Where Travel Management Academy comes from

The academy is built on 20 years of experience in tourism. It began as an idea: people in tourism need a place where they can gain or build on knowledge related to air travel. The starting point was the basics of Amadeus GDS, the system in which airline ticket reservations are made, and that foundation turned out to be useful to anyone who wants to work in travel. The courses were first tied to air transport and hotels. Today one programme is open, described on the page listed below, and a detailed overview of training is on the Academy page.

How learning works here

The academy is a set of standalone modules. Each covers one area of the work, so you do not have to go through what you already know. You choose. That saves time for anyone who knows part of the job and wants to learn the rest in practice. A good example is Air Modul Basic. It combines theory and practice, and at the end comes a test of the knowledge gained.

Who the academy is for

Picture yourself working in the tourism sector and listening every day as colleagues discuss reservations, fares and operating procedures, while you can follow only part of the conversation because you have not yet had the chance to learn that area of the business systematically. If you are only planning to start such a job and want to learn more, the modules are designed to give you a thorough understanding of the knowledge and skills required.

The modules are meant for people who want to work in travel agencies, airlines, airports or tourism in general.

Knowledge of English is the only requirement, and the programme is intensive and asks for attendance and concentration.
